 Port Commissioners

Port commissioners are elected to six year terms of office in a non-partisan election.  They are responsible for making the key decisions for operating the Port of Poulsbo, and are the officials who represent the voters who live in the Port District.

Gilbert

Glenn Gilbert

Glenn holds a degree in Public Administration from the University of Puget Sound, and has 28 years working for the City of Seattle, 25 in the executive division and three in the judicial division.

He has lived in Poulsbo since 1978 and has been a Port Commissioner since 2000.  Glenn has also served the community as a member of the Board of Adjustments and Appeals for five years and Fishline (the local food bank) for six years.

Tony DeCarlo

Antonio "Tony" DeCarlo

Tony is an electrical engineer who worked with Westinghouse for 28 years, then with Northrop Grumman before retiring in 1997.

A boat owner since 1958, he has served as a Port Commissioner since 1991, when he was first appointed to fill the unexpired term of a Commissioner who moved out of the Port District.

Arnie

Arnold "Arnie" Bockus (Chairman)

Arnie brings a strong history of public service to the Port of Poulsbo with his more than 26 years in law enforcement, including 19 years as a Community Relations Officer. In that capacity he served as the liaison between the police department and the community, including elected officials.  He also has extensive experience in organizing community events and activities.

His priorities include building a friendly working relationship between the Port, the City and its elected officials, as well as the business community.  Arnie is working to consolidate Port and City programs and activities where possible to streamline expenditures and conserve financial resources, helping to build a friendlier, more inviting atmosphere for tourists and visiting boaters.  He continues researching opportunities for acquiring grants to enable the Port to expand its facilities, leading to a larger flow of boaters visiting the community.
